We practise immigration law, personal injury, long-term disability and contract law. My immigration application was refused. What can I do? It depends on the refusal. Options include a new application, a reconsideration request or judicial review at the Federal Court, which can have a deadline of 15 days. How do fees work for injury claims? Either a small amount upfront and the rest only if you're compensated, or no legal fees at all unless you're compensated. The fee is a percentage agreed in writing before you sign, plus HST. I'm in Canada on a permit and was injured. Can I still claim? Being on a temporary permit doesn't by itself stop you from making a claim.
